On Thursday October 23, Thumbprint Racing enjoyed its third ever annual party. The gracious host this year was member and sponsor Neal Goldberg who offered up his
FootWorks facility in the heart of Downtown Seattle.
Surrounded by Neal's tools of the trade, forty or so of the TPR tribe settled in handsomely with a mix of snacks, drinks and related. Many new members were in the house along with old friends not seen since the halcyon days of the Cascadia Crit series or Tour of Walla Walla.
Kit try-ons, helmet sizing and some by-law stuff kept folks mingling and moving around. Someone remarked that triathletes wouldn't be caught dead eating or drinking much of the bounty proffered at this party but us roadies aren't terribly particular.
The team was pleased to host some sponsors in addition to Neal, including folks representing FareStart, Speedy Reedy, and John Duggan himself, fresh off a very important client meditation. Apparently this Eastern Zen-inducing trance-like state is vastly superior to the legal wrangling Westerner's typically handle via mediations.
Alas, new masters men recruit
Slobodan wasn't able to make it to the party. He got to the building but transposed the suite number and ended up at a periodontics convention and fit in so well that when he called later from the Zig Zag Cafe he didn't realize that he never made it to the right party.
