The FareStart team is super excited about all our sponsors, but in particular we're pumped about the new relationship with the good folks at
Cycle University who have two locations now, one in West Seattle and one on Sand Point. Because its WINTER out!
Today was one of our regular EARLY morning indoor training sessions and it has been great to fill up all eight Computrainers as we do our best to drown the mat in sweat. Making the trip this morning as well was Gabe Templeton who brought his camera to document some of the nonsense that middle aged men seem to bring on themselves when they are entranced with visions (in their mind) of recapturing the athletic glory of their youth.
No Gabe, that really is my bed-head hair, I didn't realize we had to be
fierce this morning.

The lucky eight willing to get up at o'dark thirty to sweat.

Come and suffer with your friends and monitor it in real time!

No fan of riding indoors, Kauper looking decidedly nonplussed about pedaling for miles without going anywhere.
Meanwhile, on the OTHER side of Cycle U is the palatial space where the Indoor Cycling (tm) class is held. Intrigued by the huffing and puffing, pro cyclist and coach Dan Harm came to investigate only to find that the left side of the room was not taking their training seriously enough. They needed a little motivation. "Speak quietly and carry a big foam stick I say". After looking at the screen, he said " you guys ride like a bunch of [REDACTED], I remember when
Slobodan Salumenivich was on your team, that dude could RIDE man!". Disgusted, he left pretty quick.

"really? 150 watts?"
|
"uh, Harm sez I should give you a wet willie every time you stop pedaling."
We had fun! I wish we could harness the KJ's created on these morning sessions, it might power our cell phones for a couple hours at least.
